Meet the Maker.
Matt Laing’s love of timber all started with a school project in year 5 where he was first introduced to wood working. He loved the touch, smell and finish that the timber gave off.
Fast forward a number of years and after literally hundreds of timber furniture pieces crafted, Matt founded Barku in 2024.
Barku is for clients who value beautiful timber, attention to detail joinery, and who like the peace of mind that buying sustainably brings.
Having worked with both new and recycled timbers during his apprenticeship, Matt now crafts sustainable timber furniture for new residential builds, renovations and commercial fit-outs using the best timber sourced sustainably.
